RARE is administered through the University of Oregon's Community Service Center. RARE is currently supported through grants from the Corporation for National & Community Service (AmeriCorps), U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Oregon Department of Transportation, and other agencies. In addition, each participating community provides $17,000 of approximately $30,000 needed to place, train, and support a full-time RARE participant. Participant Applications are due June 1, 2008. Community Pre-applications are due by April 15, 2008.
