Meet Brelyn Dhenin:

Brelyn majored in Planning, Public Policy, and Management at the University of Oregon. Having grown up in rural Oregon and worked with organizations like the Ford Family Foundation and United Way of Lane County, Brelyn looks forward to working alongside rural communities to solve challenges. She also speaks Spanish and also aspires to visit all 58 US National Parks (only 48 more to go!)

Community and Organization:

Founded in the 1850s, the small yet fast growing City of Phoenix is located just three miles south of the City of Medford and less than 30 miles north of the California-Oregon border in the beautiful Rogue Valley. With the towering Cascade and Siskiyou Mountains on the horizon and easy access to two cities to the north and south (Medford and Ashland), residents of Phoenix can drive nearby I-5 or walk/bike Bear Creek Greenway to a wide range of destinations.

Project:

This position will be the face of the newly constructed civic center for downtown Phoenix. The RARE member, Brelyn Dhenin, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Phoenix Plaza Civic Center while building relationships with local businesses, organizations, and citizens. Brelyn will evaluate the current marketing material and develop new strategies, plan and coordinate marketing efforts, build awareness, and position the Civic Center’s brand. This will involve data compilation and analysis to develop pricing strategies, programs, marketing, and events. She will also lead recruitment, placement, and retention of volunteers, including managing, monitoring, evaluating, and accrediting volunteers.
