Meet Emily Bradley:

Emily received her undergraduate degree in Public Relations and Communication Studies from the University of Alabama. In the future, Emily would like to work with non-profits, potentially studying non-profit administration in graduate school. Emily is also excited to live in Oregon and experience the Pacific Northwest; She already loves to travel and has been to 26 countries on four continents!

Community and Organization:

Established at the confluence of the Umpqua River, Smith River, and Scholfield Creek as a timber town, the City of Reedsport has experienced a shift towards other industries, like services and tourism. Known as the “Gateway to the Dunes” and the “Chainsaw Carving Capital of Oregon”, the City of Reedsport benefits from its location where the forested mountains meet the sandy coast. From ATVing and hiking the famous Oregon Dunes or kayaking nearby Loon Lake, to learning about local history at the Umpqua Discovery Center or watching Roosevelt Elk at the Dean Creek Wildlife Area, it is a dynamic community with a range of offerings.

Project:

Emily Bradley will serve as The Main Street Coordinator, responsible for overseeing the Reedsport Main Street Program. This involves running the day-to-day operations such as answering phone calls and emails, as well as participating in Main Street and community events such as the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and Chainsaw Festival. Emily will also write grants for the Program and its projects, work with other community organizations and volunteers, and administer projects for the Main Street Program.
