Elizabeth (Liz) Gronert is a Program Coordinator for the RARE Program – completing the dynamic duo with Victoria Binning. She is a two-time RARE AmeriCorps alumna and came to us with several years of experience within the rural tourism arena. She served as a RARE AmeriCorps member from 2017-2019 for the Oregon Coast Visitors Association, where she focused on different initiative areas like agritourism, outdoor recreation, events, and regional collaboration. Before joining the RARE Program as a member, Liz spent her life in Iowa – graduating from the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) with a background in environmental science and anthropology.
Fast forward to today – Liz is full time on the team! She adds so much value with her relationship building strengths, social media prowess, and passion for highlighting in emails. In her role she supports members, leads communication efforts, engages alumni, and manages our Mentor Program.
Liz is passionate about zero waste, pie, college basketball, supporting local food systems, and uncovering the best dirty chai’s in Oregon. In her free time you can catch Liz reading, playing with her two huskies, or enjoying her next traveling adventure.
