She is an avid beekeeper and traveler. When not working you can find her practicing Italian, western dancing, or creating some form of art.
Community and Organization:
Adie is serving in La Grande, Oregon. La Grande is a city of 13,085 residents and is located at the Eastern base of the Blue Mountains. La Grande is an active community that houses the Eastern Oregon University campus, cultural and recreational activities as well as a vibrant food scene. EOVA serves 11 counties and two tribes in the Eastern Oregon region. The mission of the Eastern Oregon Visitors Association (EOVA) is “to develop, market, and promote the Eastern Oregon region as a destination for visitors to enhance the regional economic vitality, and quality of life for all residents”. EOVA focuses on three marketing and development pillars: Culinary & Agritourism, Outdoor Recreation, and Culture & Heritage.
Projects:
Adie will be focusing on the Culinary & Agritourism pillar. She will build a culinary and agritourism network to identify key opportunities and needs in the region, and from these learnings, provide guidance on building out EOVA’s culinary and agritourism programming.
Adie will create a comprehensive food inventory to help support industry partners in leveraging Eastern Oregon’s resources by highlighting local foods, as well as strengthening the relationships between consumers and local producers through marketing initiatives and farm-to-fork programming, ultimately strengthening the local economy.
Also, she will evolve and enhance the existing Four Rivers Farm and Garden Trail to better meet the community’s current needs while brainstorming new opportunities with the local action team that is being formed. These initiatives aim to increase tourism and economic activity.
