Victoria Binning

Victoria is one of two Program Coordinators for the RARE Program. She is a proud graduate of Willamette University (Go Bearcats!), unabashed lover of Oregon trivia, and two-time AmeriCorps alum. Victoria is a food systems thinker and has a diverse background in community gardens, farming, winemaking, sales, and agricultural extension. Her own RARE year from 2015-2016 was spent on the Southern Oregon Coast, getting to the root of challenges facing local seafood and the small-boat fishing industry, where she learned (the hard way) that land-based food systems don’t directly translate to the ocean.

Fast forward to today – Victoria has been Program Coordinator at the RARE Program for 3 years now! She supports both members and supervisors throughout the service year, loves making training agendas, and adding color-coded spreadsheets to any project. She is such a valuable part of our team, bringing so much heart and energy to our crew.

If you’re out and about in Oregon, you may very well find Victoria paddling around rivers and reservoirs, catching a play at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, biking around Crater Lake, or tracking down weird and wacky Oregon treasures – like Crack in the Ground, darlingtonia bogs, and North America’s only vertical street.
