Meet Tabitha Tolsma:

Tabitha completed her undergraduate studies at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo with a degree in City and Regional Planning and a minor in Ethnic Studies. Tabitha grew up in the rural high desert of Southern California and is passionate about serving community members and empowering stakeholders to encourage active engagement and ultimately to improve quality of life. In the years to come she hopes to use these passions to create positive change in Columbia County where she will be serving.

Community and Organization:

Located just northwest of Portland, Columbia County is Portland Metro’s rural secret. The county is relatively small in land, population, and tourism. That being said, population, development, and industry is growing in the county, and the Port is there to support that growth and economic development.

Project:

As the Planning Coordinator for the Port of Columbia County, Tabitha Tolsma will participate in a number of ongoing long-range planning projects in addition to spearheading new opportunities for the Port. As the RARE member, Tabitha not only has the ability to assist the Port with projects they have been unable to dedicate time and energy toward in the past, such as an expansion of an existing RV Park and researching new mitigation measures, she will also be able to assist in larger projects such as rezoning and other new tenant activity and development.
