Community and Organization:

On the banks of the Rogue River and coast of the Pacific Ocean 35 miles north of the California border, the City of Gold Beach serves as both a travel destination and the seat of Curry County government. Named for the gold extraction on the mouth of the Rogue during the late 19th century, today the City features restaurants, fishing expeditions, vacation rentals, hotels, biking, wildlife viewing, a Classic Car show, galleries, the Brew and Art Fest, golf, and more. Gold Beach Main Street is a non-profit formed to initiate projects to combat community deterioration through streetscape improvements, economic development, beautification, and community arts programs that contribute to the general quality of life.

Project:

The RARE Participant, Ariel Kane, will coordinate and manage various components of the Gold Beach Main Street Program. Ariel will be involved in all aspects of the project, including daily administration and management of the Main Street Program, long-range planning, community and committee engagement, and various special projects. They will provide staff support with marketing and communications, event coordination and technical assistance. They will also work to establish committees identified and suggested by the Oregon Main Street program.
