Meet Ann Moorhead (she/her):
Ann was born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon, and recently graduated with a B.S. in Planning, Public Policy, and Management from the University of Oregon. After an enriching year in The Dalles, where she worked as a RARE for the City of The Dalles and The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce, Ann decided to continue broadening her horizons. While she will miss her time in The Dalles, she’s excited to explore a new side of Oregon in Tillamook County. Ann loves immersing herself in new experiences, collecting stories, and believes that with the right mindset, every opportunity can be an adventure. She looks forward to discovering what Tillamook has in store.
Community and Organization:
Tillamook County is located along the northern Oregon coast, between the Coastal Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean. Known as the land of “cheese, trees, and ocean breeze,” it’s famed for the Tillamook Cheese Factory, the Tillamook State Forest, and its breathtaking coastline and beaches. However, the county also faces frequent natural hazards such as flooding, high winds, coastal erosion, and the looming threat of the Cascadia Subduction Zone Earthquake. Tillamook County emergency management works hard to support and collaborate with dedicated first responders, government agencies, nonprofits, businesses, and emergency volunteers to equip and inform residents, enhance community preparedness, and ensure readiness for both routine and catastrophic events.
Projects:
Ann is serving as the Emergency Management Coordinator for Tillamook County. In this role, she collaborates with various organizations across the county, including emergency volunteer groups and local partners, to strengthen preparedness efforts. Her projects include creating a comprehensive resource inventory and creating and updating emergency plans. Additionally, Ann conducts community outreach to enhance public awareness and engagement in disaster preparedness while supporting the establishment and development of new emergency volunteer organizations.
